LAP-BAND® vs. Gastric Bypass Surgery
You’ve attended an obesity surgery seminar at our Dallas location. You’ve had your consult. You and your doctor have determined that weight loss surgery is the right option for you. Once you have made the decision to have obesity surgery, there are many items that must be addressed before you actually have your procedure.
First, you should complete all pertinent paperwork for our practice and for your primary care physician (or referring doctor).
Secondly, you should complete all paperwork, testing and documentation for your insurance company. Insurance companies can take several weeks to review and approve all the necessary paperwork therefore you need to allow time for processing.
If you are not covered under your insurance policy and would like to finance the procedure, you may obtain information and paperwork from our financing organization or any other institution of your choice. Financing must be secured and payment received by our practice from an approved credit institution no later than two weeks prior to your surgery date.
Preparing for your surgical procedure
* Sometime before your obesity surgery, a member of our staff will contact you to confirm your surgery time and date, your financial responsibilities, and answer any questions you may have had.
* You will also receive a phone call from one of our staff nurses who will instruct you on your pre-op instructions, what will happen after surgery and what you need to bring/not bring to our facility the day of the surgery.
* If you have any additional questions about obesity surgery at our Dallas office, please call our office at 972-681-7723.
